This new solution brings a wider range of iconic Starbucks® beverages to the self-serve consumer than ever before. It is the first Starbucks® self-serve solution capable of serving hot and iced beverages, along with dairy-free milk alternatives.
It also offers more choice through greater customization options, such as six different flavored syrups, including sugar-free and seasonal favorites, two espresso roasts and an expanded range of chocolate beverages. With this level of customization, there are hundreds of different combinations that a consumer could choose from.
All of this is available at the touch of a button and simply dispensed from a single outlet, providing a hassle-free and seamless experience to the on-the-go consumer – delivering both convenience and all the variety, taste, and quality that they expect from Starbucks®.
The unit has been designed in the iconic Starbucks® style, for instant brand recognition. It also features an entirely digital display, whereby messages can be changed and targeted, depending on the time of day and season of the year.
“From the beginning, we set-out to creatively re-imagine a consumers’ experience of self-serve coffee, designing a concept that both aesthetically fit into our food service customers’ surroundings, whilst delivering personalized beverages consumers know and love", said Clive Brennan, Head of Marketing EMENA. “The concept has been designed to take consumers on a journey, like they would receive in a coffee shop”.
The new solution was designed with sustainability in mind, being built with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood, PETG plastic and naturally recyclable metals. Furthermore, all coffee used in the We Proudly Serve Starbucks® Coffee Program is 99% ethically sourced and verified, to foster a sustainable supply of high-quality coffee that positively impacts the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers and their communities.
Starting this year, the new solution can be found in select markets across Europe with plans for further expansion. The first installations have launched in Shell stations throughout the Netherlands.
This new solution was made possible by the Global Coffee Alliance, formed by Starbucks and Nestlé in 2018, to accelerate and grow the global reach of Starbucks® brands outside Starbucks retail stores, including in foodservice.
