Honoring a Lasting Legacy

Dr. Bill Gallagher, affectionately known as “the “Chef of Chefs,” was a highly respected South African chef, mentor, and former Worldchefs President (1996–2000). He built a distinguished career at venues such as The Dorchester in London before becoming a pillar of South African hospitality, serving as President of the South African Chefs Association for over 15 years and was later named Honorary President of Worldchefs.

Gallagher’s lifelong passion was mentoring emerging talent. He believed in providing young chefs with hands-on culinary education programs, global exposure, and real opportunities - a philosophy that lives on through the Forum that bears his name.
