Nescafé in Europe is now 100% responsibly sourced
At global level Nescafé is aiming to have 100% responsibly sourced coffee by 2025; meeting sustainability standards and supporting coffee farmers to improve their lands and livelihood.
In 2023 we achieved a great milestone in this journey: Nescafé coffee produced in Europe is already 100% responsibly sourced - including all Nescafé Professional formats.
Responsibly sourced coffee is traceable to the group of farms where it was grown and is produced in accordance with sustainability standards that have been validated as equivalent to our Responsible Sourcing Standard.
Traceability and compliance are verified by independent organizations, such as 4C Services, the Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade, which deploy accredited local auditors to assess a range of factors, including social, environmental, economic and health and safety conditions at farm. The collaboration with credible third-party organizations checking independently farm practices against sustainability standards is giving us an unbiased and objective assessment.
