Coffee sourcing

  • Nestlé's long term commitment is to develop sustainable agricultural practices. For more than 30 years, Nestlé has worked jointly on initiatives with coffee farmers.
  • Nestlé has sustainability education programmes in 14 coffee producing countries.
  • Nestlé's team of agronomists provide free technical assistance to farmers to help them improve coffee crop quality which can enable them to sell their coffee at a higher rate.
  • Nestlé operates the world’s largest direct coffee purchasing scheme in seven countries (where Nestlé has factories) which allows farmers to deliver coffee directly to buying stations and so keep more of the income from their coffee by avoiding the middle-men.
