External awards and acknowledgements are important to Nestlé as they demonstrate achievements as part of the total commitment to sustainable development.

Nestlé is an elected member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and is one of only two companies in the food sector to receive the Gold Class award from Sustainable Asset Management (SAM).

Nestlé has achieved a Best in Class rating from Storebrand SRI (Socially Responsible Investments). Storebrand’s symbol of excellence, the butterfly, is awarded to companies that have earned Best in Class status for leading environmental and social performance.
